The beautiful Gardeslen orthopedics company is located in Goes with their beautiful modern building. Within this building, aids are measured for clients from all over Zeeland, the prostheses and orthoses are made and clients can properly fit and test their aid in the walking room. The large workshop is full of workbenches, plaster and foam models and finished products ready for the client.

In one of the offices Leonie is digitally correcting one of her models. Leonie has been working as a practitioner and instrument maker at Gardeslen orthopedics for a year now. As a result of her internship for her studies at Fontys paramedical college, she was allowed to continue working at Gardeslen orthopaedics. During her training Leonie followed a special module for digital modeling via the Rodin4D software, based on this interest Leonie has taken up this digital way of working at Gardeslen orthopaedics. ‘Measuring with the IPad scanner works perfectly! Flexible, mobile and perfectly modelable.” Leonie and two of her colleagues scan their clients with the Structure Sensor or the IPad scanner. By using this way of measuring they are very flexible and mobile because this scanner is very easy to use. Gardeslen orthopedics also has a white light scanner at home that they can also use for measurements. After the scan, Leonie edits her model in the Rodin4D software. Small corrections and additions make the model perfect for milling. Gardeslen has orthopedics mill the molds at OrthoShapes, the mold is received within a maximum of two days and Gardeslen orthopedics can continue to work. From the moment of fitting, the client can adjust the product for the first time within two weeks. Due to the good contact between the two companies, a good and fast cooperation has arisen. ‘What is so easy is that I can just send an WhatsApp message if I have a question or comment’ Not all of Gardeslen orthopedics works digitally yet, but the great thing is the mix between them, everyone works in the way he or she works best.
